Our COVID-19 Response

Citrus Cycles is focused on the wellness of our customers and our employees.  We sincerely believe that riding your eBike is a low-risk, healthy activity that fosters social distancing while improving your wellness – both physical and mental.  It is especially important in these difficult times to ensure that everyone can continue to participate in safe and healthy activities such as cycling.

We want to let you know that we are here to support you as you pursue cycling as an avenue to promoting wellness.  In order to do so in a way that is healthy for you and for us, we are making some changes that we wanted to share with you.

Need an eBike?  Please consider these delivery options to help keep everyone safe:

  • We offer free shipping to most places in Canada
  • We are now offering "contactless delivery" of fully assembled bikes to most locations on Vancouver Island and the ferry terminals to/from Vancouver Island.  We will prepare a video showing you how your bike works, sanitize your bike, and leave it outside your home.  Please contact us for details.
  • Want to try one first at the safety of your home?  With our Try at Home program we can bring 2-4 bikes right to your home to try.  We will unload and sanitize the bikes and then leave them for you to take a test ride.  There is no fee for this, and we are reducing our deposit requirement - please contact us for details.
Need service on your eBike?
  • Effective immediately we are only doing essential service on eBikes.  If your bike isn't functioning properly, contact us and we can arrange for you to have your bike repaired in a safe manner.  All other non-essential service appointments will be suspended until further notice.

Our commitment:

  • To reduce your risk of exposure, we require appointments and can only work with one customer at a time.  Please see below for more details.
  • We will follow social distancing practices and keep 1-2 meters from our customers and spend most of our time outside. 
  • We are cleaning and disinfecting all touch points in the store, including counter tops, payment terminals, door handles, and washrooms.  However, we kindly request that you do not enter the store unless necessary.  We will bring bikes outside for you to test ride.
  • We are cleaning and disinfecting all touch points on bikes after customers or staff test ride or service an eBike.
  • We are providing hand sanitizer at the checkout counter and all of our staff are cleaning their hands frequently.
  • We will be keeping our front door open more frequently to allow fresh air to circulate, so it may be chillier than usual – please dress accordingly.

What we ask of you:

  • Please call or e-mail to schedule an appointment so that we can have the store to yourself while we provide you with personal, one on one service.  Even if you call a few moments before you come, this will help us to maintain social distancing.  You are welcome to drop in, but we may ask you to wait until we are finished with another customer until we welcome you into our store.  Note that this policy may change, and we may eventually only be able to serve customers by appointment.
  • We are pleased to assist you, but we kindly ask that if you are not planning on purchasing an eBike in the very near future that you consider scheduling an appointment closer to when you will be making a purchasing decision.  We want to minimize the potential for exposure for our staff and customers, and there is a good chance that you'll fall in love with an eBike that might not be available again until later in the year.
  • We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work hard to serve you while protecting you and our staff according to government guidelines and make changes to follow best practices.

Please note that eBikes have become even more popular since the arrival of COVID-19 and although we still have a very good selection of eBikes in stock, many of our partners in Europe are pausing production as they deal with this epidemic.  We appreciate your understanding if we sell out of a specific model that you are interested in or if there are longer than usual delays in ordering a bike in for you.
