The Charger5. Extends riding pleasure.
Sporty and powerful or preferably comfortable and safe? You don’t have to decide, because you’ll always be right with the Charger5. The manoeuvrability of a mountain bike meets the comfort of a touring bike. Whether you’re planning off-road trips through forests and across fields or considering daily commuting: you’re guaranteed long-lasting riding enjoyment.
The Charger5 is available in six models: the Charger5 GT Touring, Charger5 GT Vario, Charger5 GT Rohloff, Charger5 GT Automatic and the Charger5 Core in either Touring or Vario. For a Charger with a sloping top tube, check out the Charger4 Mixte here with a lower cross bar.
- Charger5 GT Touring features the sporty Shimano Cues 11-speed, 11-50T cassette and chain.
- Charger5 GT Vario features the continuous Enviolo 380 hub gear, and a Gates carbon belt drive so you are always in the perfect gear: no gaps between shifts, virtually maintenance- and wear-free. Choose this option to be able to shift to any gear at any time and to avoid the maintenance and repair/replacement requirements found with a standard chain, derailluer and cassette configuration. - Charger5 GT Automatic adds automatic shifting to the GT Vario. Simply select the ideal pedalling rate for you and the system automatically determines the right gear and shifts for you. This way, you can tackle any incline feeling completely relaxed, without ever getting out of breath. Even after short interruptions to riding, for example at traffic lights, you automatically shift back to the perfect gear. You can adjust the pedal frequency at any time as required via the Bosch E-Bike display and external control unit.
- Charger5 GT Rohloff uses the electronic Rohloff E-14 featuring the eShift function of the Bosch E-Bike system – an electronic gear shift activation unit. The drive and gear communicate with each other and synchronise the gear-shifting process to make it as light, precise and efficient as possible. An ergonomic switch with two buttons replaces the twist shift grip and gear cables. You can now shift gear in less than 200 ms – and that’s with a 526 % gear ratio. Multi-shift mode simultaneously shifts 3 gears in a single sequence, while the auto-downshift function automatically returns the gear to your individually selected starting gear when the bike comes to a standstill. A Gates Carbon Belt gives you years of maintenance free riding without needing to clean, oil or replace a chain.

All thanks to its super-rigid diamond frame combined with a suspension fork and seatpost. The Charger5 owes its superior look to its polished weld seams where they are visible, and its aluminium battery cover in the same colour as the frame.
Carries virtually everything.
Its MIK HD system means that you can attach a shopping basket or child seat to the carrier in no time at all. You can also attach panniers, thanks to additional struts on the carrier. Opt for a front carrier with bag when you need to carry smaller loads – and, if you need more space, your dealer can advise on a full range of additional accessories. A Bosch motor with up to 100 Nm of torque provides reliable assistance, even when carrying heavy loads.
Whether for extended trips or daily commuting – you’re always right with the Charger5.
Safe on the road.
A high-performance headlight with main beam and dipped beam plus the rear light with brake light ensure that you can see perfectly and be seen on forest tracks and across fields. And when you take a break from riding, simply secure your Charger5 with the frame lock and a solid lock chain. Optional Bosch eBike ABS ensures maximum safety when stopping. To charge the battery, simply remove it or use the easily accessible charging socket on the top tube.
R&M Charger 5 Options
Offroad kit
If you like riding your e-bike off-road, then simply equip it with first-class Schwalbe Johnny Watts tires. Their flat tire studs in the middle of the running surface have extremely low rolling resistance for faster riding on straight sections. The solid tire studs on the shoulders of the tire guarantee exceptional grip, particularly when cornering. The wide VP 538 flat pedals provide grip for your feet.
800 Wh + Range Extender 250
The Bosch PowerMore 250Wh additional battery supplements the power of the standard 800Wh battery – for even greater range and flexibility. Only as big as a drinking bottle and weighing just 1.6kg, it can be stowed away in a backpack or bike bag. And should you spontaneously decide to go on a longer trip, then just attach the energy reserve and continue riding for another 50km without the need to stop and charge. Please note that the position of the PowerMore may vary. This applies to all HS models of Charger5 and Charger5 Mixte as well as frame size 45 of the Charger5 Mixte. The additional battery is then located under the top tube.
Bosch eBike ABS
With Bosch eBike ABS you can use the front brake more safely and assuredly. It can prevent the front wheel from locking and helps to avoid possible skidding or crashing over the handlebars – even if you suddenly brake hard on grippy tarmac or slippery gravel paths. Wheel speed sensors monitor the speed of the wheels. If locking of the front wheel is anticipated during excessive braking, Bosch eBike ABS controls braking pressure and improves the riding stability and steerability of the e-bike – this is particularly evident on slippery surfaces. In the event of extreme overbraking of the front wheel, the intelligent Bosch eBike ABS rear wheel lift control reduces the possibility of unwanted lifting of your rear wheel.
Front carrier with bag
You can additionally transport up to 5 kg on the sturdy front luggage carrier with bag. Mounted directly on the head tube and thus co-sprung, it perfectly protects whatever you are carrying from vibrations. The water-repellent 18-litre bag is quick and easy to remove. It can be securely closed with a zipper and roll-top closure, and turned into a practical shoulder bag using the strap supplied. You can also carry smaller items in the two outer pockets fitted with waterproof zippers.
Please note: the headlight is mounted on the handlebar as standard. If required, it can be mounted on the front luggage carrier, from there also guaranteeing that you can see and be seen perfectly.
Comfort kit
