Who is Citrus Cycles?

After his first exposure to eBikes in Germany many years ago, Kelly, our founder, became passionate about the eBike experience.  

He started Citrus Cycles as a way to share the many benefits of premium quality, European electric bikes here in Canada.  You can find out more about why we love supporting our European trading partners that honour their trade agreements and respect our sovereignty.  We are a family owned, Canadian small business, but we won't "maple wash" our bikes by slapping a Canadian flag on a Chinese made bike or trike and claiming that it was designed or assembled in Canada.  (Most of our bikes and trikes are designed in Europe and are assembled in Europe and here at our store in Canada.) 

After becoming unable to work due to Long COVID, Kelly's son, Domi took over the business.  Domi continues to focus on providing safe, reliable and fun European made eBikes and Trikes. 

By specializing in eBikes, we can provide expert advice and service that is hard to find elsewhere.  We ride all of the bikes we sell.  If you need assistance selecting the best eBike for your needs, we are here to help.

We ship anywhere in Canada, and carefully package your bike to make sure it arrives in perfect condition, ready to ride!

Situated in Chemainus on beautiful Vancouver Island, BC, we want you to experience the joy of electric bicycles.  In addition to test rides, we offer electric bike and electric trike rentals. You can book an appointment here to try any of our bikes.

"My eBike and eTrike Journey" - Kelly Demoline 

Although my Long COVID diagnosis prevents me from working, I'm grateful to the many customers I've been priviledged to work with over the years.  I'm also pleased that my son Domi is continuing our tradition of excellence in service. 

My first experience with eBikes was on a trip to the beautiful town of Ruhpolding in the Bavarian Alps in Germany.  My wife and I rented pedal assist bikes to explore the mountains.  Although we weren’t serious cyclists before that, we fell in love with the freedom and pure joy that comes with electric bicycles. 

We found that we could ride all day and explore trails that we didn’t even know existed.  As we never bothered with a car in Europe, we discovered that eBikes were the perfect mode of transportation.  We could get anywhere we wanted, quickly and easily and enjoy the awesome view along the way. 

I tried to find a bike shop in Canada with high quality, premium eBikes that shared my passion and cared about their customers.  When I couldn't find one, I started Citrus Cycles in Ladysmith in 2016 with the goal of sharing my passion for eBikes and eTrikes.

By taking the time to listen to our customers and helping them find the perfect eBike for their needs, we quickly grew out of our small space in Ladysmith.  We moved to a bigger space in Chemainus so that we could expand to offer trikes and even more European made pedal assist electric bikes.
